Tragedy Strikes as Husband Allegedly Be@ts Wife to Death in Port Harcourt
In a shocking turn of events, a man identified as Michael Chidozie, who hails from Nnobi in Anambra State Nigeria, has been arrested by police operatives in Rivers State for allegedly beating his 32-year-old wife to de@th in their home in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The victim, Ufuoma Eriera Chidozie, a mother of three young boys aged five, seven, and 10, was reportedly beaten in the early hours of Tuesday, March 5, 2024, according to sources.
Friends of the deceased revealed that the couple’s relationship was marred by daily acts of violence, with Mr. Chidozie allegedly subjecting his wife to physical abuse without any provocation.
Neighbors recounted instances where Mrs. Chidozie would be locked inside their apartment and brutally assaulted by her husband, all in a bid to avoid drawing attention from those nearby.
The motive behind the fatal incident remains unclear, leaving many in the community shaken and searching for answers.
Mr. Chidozie, purportedly a pastor in a local Pentecostal church, reportedly fled the scene after contacting his late wife’s brother and alerting him to an emergency at their residence.
However, swift action by police personnel attached to Agip Police Division, Mile 4, Port Harcourt, led to the apprehension of the suspect on Wednesday morning, following credible intelligence.
